Departing from her trademark electronic instrumentation, Suzanne Ciani returns in Dream Suite, her eighth album, to her orchestral and acoustic roots. Recorded in Moscow with the 70-member Young Russia Orchestra, the album takes full advantage of the sweeping, lush sound that only an orchestra can truly provide.
Dream Suite is steeped in classical style with contemporary sensibilities and draws inspiration from the passion of the great masters, tempered with Ciani's sophisticated technique, evocative melodies and clear sense of direction.

Masters in Composition from U.C. Berkeley and pioneer in the field of electronic music
The albums of Suzanne Ciani, Diva of Electronic Music and two-time Grammy nominee, have been described as "lush," "romantic," and "alive with movement." Her love of melody had begun even before the age of seven, when Ciani taught herself to read music, discovering along the way the worlds of Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Bach and Mozart. Even today, classical composers provide the spiritual background to Ciani's melodic and accessible themes. Ciani moved from the piano into the electronic realm when she discovered synthesizers as a student at U.C. Berkeley. Since then, she has been intimately involved with the developing world of electronic music and the advent of New Age, although her music is, more accurately, contemporary classical. Ciani is truly a modern master of piano and composition, and her music continues to evoke the tenderness and inspiration that has made her so beloved.

Dream Suite Reviews:
Billboard Review: (Billboard, January 7, 1995) Playing piano in this lush setting, Ciani gives herself over to the sweet themes that have been her trademark. Appropriating Mantovani as much as Mozart with her compositions, Ciani joins Chip Davis, David Lanz, and Yanni as a neo-romantic composer with an unerring ear for sentimentality. NAPRA Review: The pieces of Ciani's Dream Suite are mature, romantic, and bittersweet, the kind of music you'd expect to hear on Academy Award-winning scores. Each piece is fully dreamscaped and alive with movement and raw emotion: reconciliation, play, hope, the first moments of a love affair, a eulogy.
